AustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvescanbeusedinatemperaturerangebetween-28.8to+200C.(Note,pressure limitationsapplyabove38CrefertoPressure/Temperaturecharts.)Forservicetemperaturesbelow-28.8Cballvalveconstruction materialsshallbesubmittedtoanimpacttestattheminimumservicetemperature.Fortemperaturesoutsideoftherangeof -28.8Cto+200Cballvalveshavetobeprovidedwithseats,sealsandbodymaterialabletowithstandthetemperaturedegreerequired.2. Theonusisonthecustomertospecifyallmaterialsofconstructionandserviceconditions.AustralianPipelineValveshallassume standardmaterialsandconditionsifnototherwisespecified.3. AustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvesarenotequippedwithdevicessuitabletoavoidinternalover-pressurescausedby incorrectoperationsofprocessorby-fluids&liquidssubjectedtoanincreaseofvolumeand/orpressure (thesedevices,suchastheover-pressureholeintheballorsafetyseatsareavailableuponrequest).4. AustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvesarenotdesignedwithspecialdevicestowithstandasuddenthermaljump(thermalshock).5. IngeneralAustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvesarenotmechanicallydesignedtobearoverloadsduetoexceptional atmosphericornaturalphenomenons(suchasearthquakes).6. IngeneralAustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvesarenotdesignedtobearloadsonflanges,onpipeconnectionsorpipeline.7. IngeneralAustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvescantwithstandiceinsidetheirbodies(inthiscaseusermustspecifythe optionalstemextensionforinsulating,avoidingthepresenceofresidualproductinsidethevalve).8. AustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvesarenotsuitableforlowtemperatureservicebelow-29C(-20F)unlessprovidedwith cryogenicstemextensionandothermodifications(availableonrequest).9. AustralianPipelineValveStandardballvalvesaresuitableforindustrialoxygen(notmedical)servicewhensupplieddegreased andpackedinpolyethylenebagsonly.10. Thecompatibilitybetweenballvalvesconstructionmaterialsandmediumisselectedbytheuser.Theuserisultimatelyresponsible forverifyingthecompatibilitybetweenmediumandmaterials.11. Abrasiveordirtyservice,hightemperatureservice,lowtemperatureservice,vacuumservice,nearzeropressureserviceandother specialapplicationsshouldbeclearlystatedwhenrequestingquotation.BALL VALVE START-UPBeforeinstallingtheballvalveontothepipe-lineitismandatoryfortheusertoverifythecompatibilityoftheballvalvewithserviceconditions(medium,temperatureandpressure).Withreferencetostandardballvalvesheldinstocktheresellerandenduserwillhavetoassurethemselvesofthecompatibilitywiththeuseofconditionsrequiredbythecustomer.AustralianPipelineValveballvalvesmustbeonlyusedforon-off(fullyopen/fullyclosed)service.Beforeusingtheballvalveinapotentialexplosiveatmosphereitsnecessary:- Toverifythecompatibilitybetweentheballvalveandthezoneinwhichtheballvalveshouldbeinstalled. Toforeseethepipe-linegroundconditiononwhichtheballvalveshouldbeinstalled. Tocheckthatthetemperatureoftheballvalvesurfaceisnothigherthantheflammablepointoftheatmosphereinwhichtheball valveisinstalled(inthiscasespecifyaninsulatingcoverdeviceforthevalveandanextensionforthewrench) Beforeinstallingballvalveswithweldingendstomakesurethattheprocessofweldingiscarriedoutin accordancewithallthesafetyrequirementsoftheclassifiedzone. Toavoidmechanicalknocksduringtheinstallationthatmaycausesparks.STATIC ELECTRIC EFFECTTheAPVfiresafeballvalvesareprovidedwithanti-staticdevicesforball-stem-body.Whenserviceconditionsrequireelectricalcontinuitytopreventstaticdischarge,theuserisresponsibleforspecifyingstaticgrounding.LIQUIDS WITH HIGH FLUID VELOCITY Whenballvalvesaretobeutilisedonliquidswithveryhighvelocity,checkwiththevalvedistributorormanufacturerforappropriateadvicetominimisethepossibilityofseatdeformation,especiallywhentheyarehighlypressurisedonhightemperatureline.THROTTLING SERVICEBallvalvesaregenerallynotrecommendedforthrottlingservice,asboththefluidflowandtheleadingedgeoftheballcandamageordeformtheresilientballseatscausingleakage.Highfluidvelocityorthepresenceofsolidparticlesinsuspensionwillfurtherreduceseatlifeinthrottlingapplications.Donotopenthebonnetorcapwhenbearingpressure.Valveisnotequippedwithpressureaccessdevice.Usershouldcheckitbyothermethodthroughitspipingsystem.Donottouchthesurfaceofthevalveonhightemperature.Notallowedforunstablefluid,otherwisespecifiedwithcategory III inDeclarationofconformityor/andinthisusermanual.Lockdesignonthehandletoavoidthevalveoperatedbynon-relatedpeopleisoptionalrequestedbytheuser.Australian Pipeline Valve cannot be held responsible for damage caused by use of the product especially if it is improper use or modified.AUSTRALIAN PIPELINE VALVE 53'
